Today was long - or at least felt really long. And underwhelming. I caught the bus in the morning to Positano and arrived an hour or so later, very bus sick and nauseated from how much the road curved through the mountains. The vibe that welcomed me in Positano wasn't pleasant - it was 'rich'. In each boutique, it was hard to find any clothing under €100 and the meals rarely fell under €20, and by this point I was already fed up by how much places charge tourists for the most basic things. But in all fairness, it was Positano, and I'm not sure what I should have expected. Maybe I was grumpy that the weather was overcast and a little rainy. Maybe I was just tired. Who knows.

I ate lunch with my friends at a small cafe, where I had a caprese panini, composed of tomato, mozzarella and basil. There was a view out on to the ocean.

When it started raining, we decided to have a little wonder around the shops, and I have to admit I really do love the pottery and patterns here. Example A:

When the sun finally decided to come out (sporadically) we lay on the beach for a few hours where I waited for my ferry to Amalfi.

The ferry ride was really amazing, and I honestly just don't think I could have faced another bus ride. It felt like I was looking at a miniature model of the coastline.

I will be the first to admit that I didn't find Positano, nor Amalfi particularly endearing in the way that Sorrento has been. I'm not really sure what it is about these places, but they do seem considerably more snobbish.

I also ate some coconut and pistachio ice cream.

In conclusion, it was nice to visit Positano and Amalfi to see them for myself, but I don't think I'll be going back as I think once is enough. Tomorrow I get to go on the boat tour and explore some caves!
Ciao!
