The Glyptotek, doggos and wonky carrots

The past couple of days here have been a bit of a blur. I've finally found a somewhat of a groove and a nice group of Californian girls to hang out with, most of whom are vegetarian! I'm also finishing up my Danish course, with my written exam being tomorrow and my oral presentation on Tuesday. This past Tuesday, we visited the Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek, which is a museum built around the personal collection of Carl Jacobsen, the son of the founder of the Carlsberg Breweries. The sculptures were beautiful, and the centre of the museum was composed of a tropical indoor garden with a cafe. The perfect place to hang out for a few hours!

After, we rode the a vegan ice cream parlour on the recommendation of one of the girls. It was some of the best vegan ice cream I've ever had, made from coconut milk. I had a coffee and coconut vanilla with pineapple. It was amazing!

On Wednesday, we went to a food share market in Frederiksberg. It's on every Wednesday and Saturday, and they give away free food which would otherwise be thrown away by supermarkets if it's not sold or not good quality. I managed to get a huge haul of food and decided to roast it all in one big batch with some olive oil and salt.

I sliced some of the rye bread from the market and layered it with tomato, cucumber and hard boiled eggs for a quick snack. Today I served the batch of roast veggies with some tzatziki made with skyr (skyr tastes very similar to greek yogurt, but has less saturated fat and therefore is better for your cholesterol) and cauliflower mash.

I was so excited to eat it that I didn't quite manage to take a photo until after having a few bites

Afterwards, we went to Svanemølle Strand and played some beach volleyball.

DOGGOS

Just wanted to share a photo and a cute video of some dogs I've seen here. Copenhagen has a very cute dog population.

We found him at the free food market
